Why Warren Buffett Likes Grocery Stores Like Kroger (KR)
In May 2024, Chloe and I brought a group of students to the U.S. to join the Berkshire Hathaway meeting. During our journey, the two places we shopped the most were outlets and grocery stores. It's so funny that every time we wanted to stop the car, it was either at a grocery store or a restaurant.
The same thing happened again in Malaysia. Now Chloe and I are traveling in Malaysia, and the very first purchase was inside a value shop grocery store. Things there were so cheap and so useful. I guess this is why Warren Buffett bought Kroger, Peter Lynch talked about Walmart, and Charlie Munger talked about Costco.
Guys, you can survive without tech, but you cannot survive without grocery stores or a supermarket !
